I'm doing some ww1 commemorative stuff and couldn't find any marching on freesound. So here's my effort: 25s of medium pace marching on gravel, made from a few freesound samples mixed and retimed to match the pace. It's a very bright, close-mic sound, with wide stereo spread. An edited version of freesound #162268 by eneaszthe intervals between the dog running are removed. It came out surprisingly well. No skipping or clipping or any of that whatsoever. Org. I imported that file to my ableton live. I reverse the sample and shorten a little. From the sample window i changed flux and grain values to bring out uneasy tones in front. I did make two other copies of the sample and played them all in same sequence, with slight different transpose values. For my 100th sound on freesound, a long one: me building my bed with wooden strips. Noises of screws, metal squares, screwdriver, moving the wood and assembling it. And sometimes my breath. Recorded in stereo with h5n, in my room in the attic by a sunny autumn day. Little cut in edit. For the anecdote, it was so hot that i finished in my underwear.

Noise removal in audacity helps with the background noise, but i didn't apply it to this recording. Ocean waves recorded from between two rocks. Recorded on a zoom h4 with the mics covered in zeppelin fur at 44100 hz 24-bit. There's some slight wind noise that can be filtered from 150hz downward. This is part of a series of recordings for an ambient music project i'm working on. There are some excellent ocean recordings on freesound if you're looking for a more traditional ocean sound, but my intent with these clips was to try to capture some natural phase-shifting by placing the h4 in cracks and crevices for a more hollow, "closed-in" sound.

This is a background sound i've created designed to imitate the noise produced by a vast collection of typewriters being worked on in a large warehouse environment. All the noises within in have been taken from freesound. There are 8 different typewriters here. On some channels i stuck a lo pass and some big room reverb, and on others i added a little compression to bring them to the forefront. The whole had a hard limiter to -6 on the top.

I made this texture by using an audio from cpark12 https://freesound. Org/people/cpark12/for this texture i made the audio a slow motion and added layers of it so it would sound more profund. Made for the second part of a homework i also uploaded here, if you wanna check it out, its birds or whales. . . ?im not a pro in any way, but i do like to explore, so i hope you enjoy it as well :).

This clip was made because i was looking for a strong thunderstorm sound effect for a school play. I wasn't able to find one that was strong enough for what i wanted, so this. Mp3 was made in audacity from three other audio files from freesound - they are #s 27247, 2521, and 87472. This information is also in the 'comment' metadata of the mp3 file. As far as i can tell, this is the "strongest" storm available on freesound as of early february 2010. (i could be wrong of course!). If there is interest, i can upload an uncompressed aif of the audacity track (it'll take awhile) but i figured there was no point since 2/3rds of the files used were originally mp3's from here. Hope this helps someone looking for a long, strong storm with high winds, loud rain, and many thunderbolts! (the thunderbolts are duplicated throughout the file; the original file contained a much more natural and less angry storm).
